Safety & Health of our employees is our highest core value that drives the company. The executive management leads all safety processes including the continued improvement process. By ensuring that Safety is a shared responsibility by all employees, we work as a team to progressively reduce risk to life and property. We extend our Safety & Health efforts beyond the workplace to include transportation, homes and our community.

All of our employees will be given the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and properly perform their jobs.

This involves an extensive training program. OSHA-10 Hour Construction, CPR/ First Aid & Defensive Driving are only a few of the Safety Training programs that employees are required to complete.

We also have an extensive apprentice program that gives our employees the chance to learn the electrical field in a safe environment where he or she can exceed together with our team.

Safety Training is Important at Ernest P. Breaux.

Our company believes that safety training accompanied by First aid/CPR training and hazardous material training Is necessary in performing our jobs safely.

New employees go through safety orientation training that includes the use of personal protective equipment and hazard communications. New employees are made aware of company policy including the drug and alcohol policies, employee responsibilities and electrical safety and housekeeping.

All foremen attend a safety meeting bimonthly.The foremen are responsible for conducting a weekly job site safety meeting with different safety topics provided to them by the Safety Director.

The drug and alcohol policy includes pre-employment drug and alcohol screening for all new employees. We strive to provide a drug free workplace by randomly testing 50% of all employees annually.

Our Safety Director, Mr. Mark Williams, performs job site safety inspections every five to six weeks to ensure our team is complying with safety standards.
